Lt. Governor Brian Calley has endorsed Ohio Gov. John Kasich as multiple polls show a huge Donald Trump lead in Michigan for tomorrow's GOP Presidential primary.

According to the Detroit Free Press:

"Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who has spent much of the last week in Michigan trying to convince voters to pick him as president, picked up a key endorsement on Friday when Lt. Gov. Brian Calley announced his support for the neighboring governor.

"I considered not getting involved in the race, but I didn’t want to let the opportunity go by when there’s a candidate who would be so good for America," Calley told the Free Press. "There are a lot of strong, objective reasons to support him ... But there are more intangible reasons, too. He just cares for people so much. He’s got a strong record of pursuing policies that strive to make sure no one is left behind."

The latest FOX 2 poll released Monday shows Trump up 22, while other polls have shown Kasich up 2 and only down 5...

No way is Trump up 22, but Kasich is not up 2...

Pollster Steve Mitchell said:

"After winning races in Louisiana and Kentucky yesterday by much narrower margins than predicted, Donald Trump (42%) continues to have a strong lead in Michigan despite having what many described as a weak debate performance last week.  Trump has also been the subject of strong attacks by what Trump would call the Washington establishment.  Meanwhile, John Kasich (19.6%), who has spent almost the entire week in Michigan, has now moved into a tie for second place with Ted Cruz (19.3%).  Kasich has increased because of the time and energy he has spent in Michigan..."

Mitchell says Trump will pull off the win tomorrow.

"Trump looks likely to win, but Cruz has a strong ground operation in Michigan," Mitchell said. "The big problem for Kasich and Cruz is that they are both doing better and therefore making it more difficult for each to win."

  1. More establishment trying to keep the will of people. Katich and Rubio are the establishment choices. Calley and Meekhof true marcher for the establishment band. The problem is they are all out of tune.

  2. We need to grow the grassroots of the party. It’s really too bad we don’t have a candidate that could draw voters from a wide swath of the fed up middle class, you know like Reagan did. If we only had someone that could increase voter turnout for us at the expense of the Dems. Boy if we just had an opportunity to stand at the polls on a day when we get a 35% increase in new pissed-off voters. Imagine, we could hand out info on our next district meeting and encourage these new people to “Be part of the solution” with us. Maybe even become a Precinct Delegate. Yeah, you could ride that horse for all its worth.
Oh well, I’m sure glad we have the party leadership watching our backs. They would never lead us to waste our energy or waste our vote or miss a rare opportunity to recruit.

  3. Consider the source of this endorsement. Voted for Obamacare expansion in Michigan and was a big Prop 1 supporter. Just consider the source.

  4. Just noticed that the bearded thug from W Michigan is also in the picture. Double points for this endorsement to back fire.
